Governor
Edmund G. Brown, Jr. on March 29 announced the new appointees to the California Commission on Aging.
The Commission serves as
"the principal advocate in the state on behalf of older individuals,
including, but not limited to, advisory participation in the consideration of
all legislation and regulations made by state and federal departments and
agencies relating to programs and services that affect older individuals."
As such it is the principal advisory body to the governor, state Legislature,
and state, federal and local departments and agencies on issues affecting older
individuals.
Among the 12 appointees are
representatives of the medical profession, judiciary, academics, healthcare, social
services and communication. The later, Stuart Greenbaum, serves as vice
president, public relations and brand management for Eskaton, the Northern
California-based aging services organization. “Through my participation, I hope
to inspire a more positive perspective on aging among the public and elected
officials,” Greenbaum said.
